Here we will highlight the key issues of the campaign to make visitors to our site familiar with our position.
Pro-life advocates believe that abortion constitutes murder since the fetus is a living being. Some only advocate abortion
after a certain trimester or to save the life of the mother. Others believe that child's life should not be compromised, even
in cases of rape, incest, or certain death.
As in the past, about two-thirds of conservative Republicans say that abortion should only be available in cases of rape,
incest or when the mother's life is threatened (50%), or not permitted at all (18%). Three-quarters of liberal Democrats,
by contrast, say abortion either should be generally available (60%) or available but with stricter limits (14%).
Some believe that even though there may be life, or potential life, or however one wants to refer to the fetus, that by
denying a woman the right to an abortion is denying her control of her body. But the fetus is a completely separate life from
the woman. It has a completely different blood type and genetic code; it is not just part of the mother's body. It is temporarily
residing there, and birth is just the change of residence from an already living, active person. Just because the unborn is
dependent on the mother for nine months, does that give anyone the right to choose to end its life? Being dependent on others
should not deprive a helpless human being the fundamental right to live, as we do not base humaneness on whether another person
is around to take care of that life. Trying to justify abortion by arguing that the unborn does not have this right is a form
of discrimination based on age and the fact that they cannot speak for themselves. Bradford will refuse to spend federal taxes
on abortions and let the states deal with the cost of it.
